Skinz offer many advantages to the specialist angler over and above ordinary pellets and boilies and their physical structure make them suitable for all species from big roach and dace to carp, chub and barbel.
On the rivers I’m a great believer in offering maximum attraction and a Skinz Hook Pellet soaked overnight in neat flavour has proved the downfall of many big chub and barbel; I hair rig two softened hookers on a size 10 with a small handful of Feed Pellets in a mesh PVA bag nicked on the hook. For heavier feeding in the warmer months I mix the Feed Pellets 50:50 with hemp and use a dropper to get it on the deck.
On stillwaters I add a large helping of Skinz Feed Pellets to my groundbait mix of hemp, red maggot, corn and trout pellet powder. This can be spodded or stiffened with extra pellet powder or fishmeal-based groundbait to use with the method. Again a double softened Hook Pellet over the top does the business.
Barbel to 12lb 2oz and carp to 34lb 4oz have fallen to this approach already – and it’s still early days!
