I arrived at the river late Saturday afternoon and the river had risen 2 feet over night. Even my largest leads couldn't hold in my favorite swims.

A little disappointed and a long walk I found a nice near bank slack that I decided might be worth a few hours.  After finding some clear areas amongst the weed I deposited 10 baited droppers full of scented hemp and 6mm halibut pellets.  Hook bait choice was a 17mm halibut pellet presented in a solid PVA bag containing 10 hook bait samples.

Dusk came and fish where evident in the swim and after several line bites on
both rods the bottom rod went over and the result was a 12lb 5oz barbel.
