After a couple of doubles on my last session I was eager to get back to my local pit to see what else it had in store.

A short overnight session between work on Tuesday resulted in a load of liners but no takes were forthcoming. The fish had obviously found the bait I had been introducing, but maybe there was still a little too much out there. I returned two days later, again for a short overnight session and after casting two rods out to the mark I had been fishing I received a drop back on the left hand rod forty minutes after casting. The fish felt heavy all the way in and when I netted it looked a good bream. I wasn’t disappointed as the scales read 13lb 7oz.
After getting the rod back out I had a further drop back around 3am, which resulted in another big bream in the net. Weighing an ounce lighter at 13lb 6oz. I was pleased as I headed off to work in the morning.
Both fish fell to Hemp and Hali Crush ground bait moulded around a method lead. Hook baits were the new prototype boilies from Sonubaits. These have certainly been doing the business.
