Sunday – No fishing.
Monday – The mild conditions continue, so hopefully the crucians will be feeding at Harris as l have a customer booked in for an after dark guiding session. Meeting at 2pm we settled in peg 4 an area that’s normally consistent, however the scaled down bolt rigs failed to work for the first hour and l was beginning to have second thoughts, however the pulling power of Sonubaits Supercrush Green has never let me down and soon the first one-toner was experienced from a tench around 4lb. From then on Paul caught regularly and come 9pm when we called it a day he had taken more than a dozen tench and crucians including two personal best crucians weighing 3lb 2oz and 3lb 4oz. For the whole story visit my website www.duncancharman.co.uk and read the designated blog titled ‘Crucians and Tench on the feed’.
Tuesday – It feels strange as yesterday l was after crucians and today l have two customers booked in who want to catch their first zander! Meeting Keith and Shaun at Old Bury Hill we dropped into pegs 40 and 41 but with the weather so mild, atmospheric pressure well high at 1028mb and a full moon action was slow. Although the feeding did intensify after dark, there wasn’t the usual hectic spell with both anglers receiving around eight runs each. Keith fared better on hook-ups taking four zander, the best weighing 9lb 11oz plus a 13lb carp with Shaun taking one zander of 8lb 3oz and a 22lb 6oz carp, all on sardine section. Once again full details can be read on my website, titled ‘Carp love Sardines’
