One of Sonu's newest baits for 2010, the fabulous One to One Paste, has just come up trumps for me on a big match which I won at the renowned Tunnel Barn Farm fishery.
I was taking part in a qualifier for the Maver Pairs and F1s around the pound mark are the target species for success. I had enjoyed a good lengthy stint catching these fish shallow on other tactics but all the time I had been breaking off small pieces of One to One Paste - the green coloured variety - and flicking them in the margin about four metres to my left where there was a depth of around two feet.
When I switched on to the margin line using a Preston Innovations Durafloat 10, with the shot tight up under the float and the paste set at dead depth, it was not taking 10 seconds for a bite to come and it was a frantic final third of the match, to say the least.
I started with a pole top kit carrying a Preston Hollo 13H but quickly changed it for a top kit with a 15H elastic, to hook and land the hard-fighting fish more quickly and efficiently.
For readers unfamiliar with Sonu Baits' One to One Paste, let me explain a little more about it. I reckon that it is one of the easiest and cheapest of baits you can try.
It is so easy to mix. Simply use the same amount of powdered paste mix and water. Pour them both into a bait tub and mix thoroughly, this creates a very sloppy mix but simply leave it for 30 minutes and it will absorb all of the water and create the perfect paste for fishing on a pole. There are two varieties available - Natural and Green
The best way to use your paste is to take the size you would like to use and roll it into a ball, put your thumb in the middle to make an indentation and put the hook in the thumb print, fold the paste over the hook and mould round the hook, this is then ready to place in the pot.
Included in each bag of Sonu Baits' One to One paste is a free paste pot, designed to ship out the paste on the pole. How good is that?
