Sunday – A day off.

Monday – A regular customer of mine, Mel Smethurst, called to say he was going to Frensham to try and up his personal best Rudd. Back in the winter we had braved the cold however finding the going swims taken we soldiered on and caught a few rudd including a personal best, yet it wasn’t the desired 50% of the British record target. Having a few hours spare due to the cancellation of a wedding appointment l quickly grabbed my tackle and headed to Frensham. Setting Mel up in the best swim we were soon fishing, yet it seemed that Frensham had once again gone against the odds and switched of in what seemed perfect conditions. A few bites did come our way, Mel taking two perch and myself a tench and a rudd and on leaving at 9pm l didn’t fancy Mel’s chances, yet the email came through the next day of triumph, read all about it on my blog page.

Tuesday – Arriving back at Frensham in the early hours, once again on a guiding day for Adrian Francis, a customer that once again had braved the cold back in the winter and come away with rudd to 2lb 5oz. Having seen the best method of catching in the winter, Adrian now wanted to see the best method for catching in the summer and fishing side by side we blitzed the swim, taking eighteen tench to 7lb 1oz.
Adrian had booked me for the day and with Frensham dying at 10am we grabbed some lunch and headed to the river Loddon in search of a barbel. The ‘Method-Lead’ once again proved its effectiveness as Adrian soon was bent into his first ever barbel, a fish weighing 8lb 5oz.
Once again if you want more information then take a look at the blog page dedicated to Adrian’s session.

Wednesday – Office work.

Thursday – I was trying to get a few hours’ barbel fishing in on the river Loddon but car trouble means that the session had to be abandoned. In the afternoon it was back to Frensham, this time with another regular, Martin Farmer. Luckily the rain had eased but the westerly wind was still ripping across the surface. It was never going to be easy, yet Martin managed a dozen fish, including tench, perch and rudd to a best of 1lb 13oz. I stood next to Martin, and for some reason managed far less bites but did slide the net under two rudd weighing exactly 2lb.

Friday – Office work including learning how to operate and edit video.

Saturday – I’m going to be organising the tackle shed as its in a bit of a state.
