Following on from the news story this is my account of a great nights fishing.

The smile says it all

A feature booked for Wednesday with Angling Times on Frimley takes all my attention and at 3pm on Monday l visit the lake and spod some hemp, corn and maggots in the hope that this will continue my spell of good fortune going. The weathers warm on my arrival late afternoon on Tuesday and l rub my hands as the weather seems spot on but after an hour all seems lifeless and l realise that things are not going to be easy. I spod a dozen helpings to three spots in the swim and after two hours take a tench of 5lbs 11oz, it’s a start. Night falls and the rod fished to the island continues to bleep showing a presence of fish but it’s not till 11-30pm that a proper take materialises producing a bream of 9lbs 5oz. A lost carp at midnight momentarily drops my hopes but thirty minutes later a personal best bream of 11lbs 2oz rekindles my enthusiasm followed shortly afterwards by a another of 11lbs 1oz. That fish sees a drop in activity and l stay till early afternoon with just one more bite that is hittable
