A couple of weeks ago I got invited to a mid-week match at Boddington's resevoir. They had been catching on the method feeder/ pellet waggler and odd fish on the pole.
On the day we were on the dam wall with a very strong wind blowing towards us, so that ruled out the pellet waggler. I decided to start on the method feeder at about 35 yards, using Sonubaits Mix 1 and Bacon Grill Paste Pellets for hook bait.
I also mixed up a couple of kilos of the Hemp and Hali crush, and balled it at 12-15 metres, for later when the fish came on the pole line. After 30 minutes everybody was getting odd fish but nobody was bagging. After 3 1/2 hours I had had 14 carp on the method, my neighbours having a similar amount, but odd people had started catching on the pole. It was now time to have a look on the short line.
I hair rigged a 8mm Halibut Pellet O and with an underarm cast I dropped it over the Hemp and Hali Crush. I had a fish first cast and 15 more in the last 90 minutes, giving me a total of 149lbs and a match win.
Balling the Hemp and Hali crush definately helped me win this match.
