spacer My Way With the Sonu Baits Method Mix Groundbait - Clint Elliott   18 MAY 2009
spacer spacer spacer

Have you tried Sonu Baits' new Method Mix grounbait yet?

It was designed with the help of England international Des Shipp and fellow Preston and Sonu consultant Les Thompson, and it's fantastic. In fact, it helped me to a match win just yesterday, when a modest 37lb of F1s was enough to do the honours.
What I love about the Method Mix is that it is impossible to mix it wrongly. You get two kilos in a bag which uis usually more than enough to last a  five-hour contest, and you receive a free Method feeder in each bag, which is perfet with the new Preston speed mould, ensuring perfect Method balls every time.
Yesterday I soaked a quantity of 2mm Fin Perfect Micro feed pellets in an equal amount of water, and then added them to the Method Groundbait. I find that the micro pellets do the job of binding the groundbait perfectly.
I used one of the smaller Preston Method feeders, a 15 gramme model, in conjunction with the speed mould, and I was casting around 20 metres out, using the Preston Sentient 10ft Mini Carp rod.
The reel was a Preston PXR 2500, loaded with 5lb Korum line and I incorporated a four-inch hooklength of 0.15mm Power Line and a size 18 PR36 hook, with a banded 6mm pellet, hair-rigged, to fool those shy F1s.
The Method Groundbait I used was left over from the Saturday, so I simply added a little more dry groundbait, mixed in the micros and I had the perfect Method groundbait.
If you haven't tried the Sonu Baits' Method Mix Groundbait yet, then what are you waiting for? It's spot-on!
