I have been having success lately by using 1mm Sonu Baits Fin Perfect feed pellets in conjunction with Sonu Baits’ Match Method Mix, and I have come up with an idiot-proof way of getting the mix spot on.

I have fashioned a scoop from an old plastic jug. It doesn’t matter what you use as long as you are consistent with the scoop and use the right proportions of groundbait, pellets and water, and the end result is a mix that will be perfect and last you all match.

So how do you mix it? Like this: Make a scoop that is about half the size of a regular oblong Preston Innovations bait tub.
Once at your peg get your groundbait bowl and into it put, two scoops of 1mm pellets, one scoop of Match Method mix. Mix these elements together and then add two parts of water. Give it a mix and leave it alone for half an hour. At first it looks like a slop that will never firm up, but the groundbait and the pellets absorb all the liquid and the mix goes rock hard.

Now just rub the mix between your hands and what you are left ith is a lovely damp method mix.

The moment you put it on to your Method feeder it is perfect. On a match last week I employed this mix to win with 80lb of carp. It is fool-proof and there is no messing about at home the night before the match. Make a scoop and give it a try – you will be impressed by the results.
