Since I last wrote a blog, which was about using SonuBaits’ S Pellets groundbait for Method feeder fishing, I have refined my mix even more - and I’ve borrowed an idea from the boys who go specimen hunting for carp.
I have discovered that the main ingredient you need in your Method mix, to maker it even stickier, so that it binds really well, is an egg!
I used to add sugar to my groundbait for a stickier texture, but now I’m sold on using eggs.
What I now do when concocting a Method Mix is open one bag of S Pellet Groundbait and one bag of Fin Perfect Mix 1 Marine, empty them into a mixing bucket and add one egg. I will whisk this with my groundbait drill the night before a match, and add a little more water the following morning, as this groundbait really does absorb some water.
If I need to mix a lot of Method groundbait, say two bags of S Pellet groundbait and two bags of Mix 1, I will simply add two eggs.
There it is -a great idea that works brilliantly - Go on, get cracking!
